Last week I joked about never being wrong. That comment has certainly come back to haunt me. The previous week, I wrote about police officers only being human but used a bad example to illustrate. Based on some Internet information I wrongly stated that an OPP officer had committed an illegal act. I was wrong. I should have known the Internet is unreliable. I should not have used the officer's name.
I sincerely apologize to Scott Gobiel, his family and, by association the OPP for any embarrassment I have caused.
