Gus Kalaris is the name of the shaved-ice
vendor on the North Side. For part of the Mar. 31, 2007 news cycle, we
gave his name incorrectly as Yiayia in a photo caption on the home
page. The words on his cart are Gus and Yia Yia, "yia yia" being a
Greek word for grandmother and the name by which his wife is known. Link
