in Brooklyn, misstated the precedent he set with the United States
Disabled Alpine Ski Team. He is the first African-American man to make
the team, not the first African-American. Link
A Feb. 23 editorial incorrectly said that Shani Davis, who won a gold
medal in speedskating at the Winter Olympics in Turin, was the first
black athlete to medal in an individual sport at the Winter Games. Debi
Thomas won the bronze medal in figure skating at the 1988 Games in
Calgary.
